Southeast Growth Spurt for ABC Supply

ABC Supply Co. Inc. has agreed to buy the assets of Ashley Aluminum LLC, a transaction that will include 48 locations in Florida, Texas, Alabama and Georgia. When the deal closes, likely in mid-June, the stores will become part of ABC Supply’s Town & Country Industries division.

ABC Supply, based in Beloit, Wis., is the largest wholesale distributor of roofing in the United States and one of the nation’s largest distributors of siding, windows and other select exterior building products. Its Town & Country Industries division is a wholesale distributor of aluminum and building products. These include awnings, pool enclosures, screen doors and other patio products; shutters and hurricane panels; extrusions, custom shapes and aluminum products for the industrial market; and such exterior building products as decking, railing and vinyl siding.

“The addition of these locations to the Town & Country family fits our long-term strategy as a world-class distributor of exterior building products,” says David Luck, ABC Supply’s president and chief operating officer. “Town & Country and Ashley Aluminum have complementary product offerings and share a passion for serving the professional contractor. It’s a natural fit.”

Ashley Aluminum is a wholly owned subsidiary of Guardian Building Products Inc.

ABC Supply operates more than 350 branches in 45 states and the District of Columbia. The privately held company had sales of approximately $3 billion in 2006.
