Georgia Gulf Finalizes Royal Acquisition

Royal Group Technologies, one of the largest extruders of vinyl window and door profiles in North America, has officially become part of Georgia Gulf Corp. The acquisition of Toronto-based Royal was completed Oct. 3 in a transaction valued at $1.5 billion.

Georgia Gulf's existing management team now serves as executives for the combined company. Four senior executives of Royal Group—Lawrence Blanford, president and CEO; James Lawn, CFO; Daryl Wilson, senior vice president of manufacturing, engineering and development; and Bradley Holcomb, senior vice president of global materials and supply—have passed their responsibilities on to the Georgia Gulf team.

Originally announced in June, Georgia Gulf’s acquisition of Royal creates a company that is vertically integrated from the manufacturing of vinyl monomer and resins to the extrusion of vinyl profiles.

Georgia Gulf will continue to offer custom window profiles, moulding, decking and various other building products under the Royal brand name.
