Door hinge
Los Angeles-based C.R. Laurence Co. introduced the Atlas Series door hinge for large interior glass doors. With two hinges installed, an all-glass door weighing up to 140 pounds with a maximum width of 39 inches can be created, according to a company release. The hinge is suitable for new or retrofit entrance doors where a floor or overhead closer is not an option. Its automatic closing function with adjustable spring strength eliminates the need for a closer mechanism, hardware mainly used in commercial and public buildings that keeps a door closed to limit the spread of fire and draught throughout a building. The mechanism will close the door from any position, according to the release. When fully opened, the hinge will hold open at 90 degrees. The solid brass construction and stainless steel components make the Atlas Series useable for sauna or steam room applications or any location that might involve excess moisture. It is available in chrome, brass, and oil-rubbed bronze and brushed nickel finishes, and fits 5/16-inch to ½-inch tempered glass.
