Window grill program
Kingston, Ontario-based Opticut Technologies Inc. developed the DaVinci Works GridLock Program for designing and making windows with complex grill configurations. The program captures measurements required to construct grills. With drop-down selections, users can choose from pre-defined window styles, arrange them in the desired configuration, choose the style and shape of grills, and align windows and grills with adjacent sections, according to a company release. Using the completed design, a full scale image is projected on a work surface where the user traces the image. Grills are aligned by highlighting the desired grills and clicking the alignment control button. Measurements can be printed in the form of “cutting lists” or saved in a file that can be imported into an automatic grid notching machine. Wakefield Equipment, Cleveland, distributes the program in the United States.
