Three float companies issue third quarter reports

Saint-Gobain sales up 5.5 percent in first nine months
Sales reached $46.4 billion for France’s Saint-Gobain in the first nine months of 2007, up 5.5 percent from the $43.9 billion during the same period last year, according to an Oct. 23 company release. The company’s flat glass segment led growth with sales increasing 11.7 percent from the same period last year.

Sales up for Vitro in third quarter
Officials from Mexican glassmaker Vitro SA de CV announced sales increased 7.1 percent in the third quarter. However, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization fell $11 million, or 10.5 percent, according to an Oct. 26 company release.
