Impact-resistant curtain wall
Vistawall Architectural Products of Terrell, Texas, developed StormMax HR-250 and HR-251 impact-resistant curtain wall systems that meet South Florida and International Building Code requirements. HR-250 accommodates 9/16-inch to 5/8-inch monolithic glass. It is a 2 ½-by-7 ¼-inch system with multispan capability and tested with design pressure up to +100/-100 pounds per square foot. HR-251 fits 1 ¼ -inch-to-1 5/16-inch insulated impact glass, and withstands design pressure up to +70/-70 psf.  Both systems meet requirements of Miami-Dade County Building Code Compliance Office, Florida Building Codes TAS 201, 202 and TAS 203, and ASTM E 1886. They are available with a dry-glaze option for large and small missile impact; impact-resistant entrance doors up to 84 by 96 inches; and factory painted Kynar 500/Hylar 5000 and factory anodized finishes.
