Xinyi Glass to sell curtain wall business

Officials from Chinese glassmaker Xinyi Glass announced plans to sell the company’s subsidiary Xinyi Curtainwall Engineering (Shenzhen) Co., according to a July 24 release.

The sale will allow the company to focus on its float glass manufacturing business, and to avoid competing with curtain wall companies that also are its customers, officials said in the release.

“At the same time, we can effectively deploy available resources in further development of our core business, such as ultra clear photovoltaic glass, high performance low-E IG units and hurricane glass specialty products,” said Daniel Lau, managing director of Xinyi Glass America Development Inc., in the release.
