3M Prestige Series Ultra

3M of St. Paul, Minn., added an Ultra safety and security version to the company’s line of Prestige Series window films. It helps protect buildings from hurricanes and intruders, and blocks heat and ultraviolet rays, according to a company release. The film is non-metallic, polymer-based, and produced using a patented multilayer technology. When applied to the inside of a window, it helps keep shattered glass in place and provides added barrier to entry. It blocks up to 60 percent of heat and up to 99.9 percent UV rays, and comes in clear or slightly tinted. Ultra is available from the 3M Prestige dealer network, and has a 15-year commercial warranty and limited lifetime residential warranty.
