You told us what you liked, and we’re giving you more

Fabricator fuel surcharges, green glazing at the 2006 AIA convention and a shower door company buy-out  were the top stories in e-glass weekly, June 14, 2006.

Five most-read stories, in descending order

Fifty-two issues and 193 articles later, we’re still trying to bring you reported articles about industry news, trends and events. And starting today, with the second year of e-glass weekly officially underway, we’re launching a redesigned newsletter with a new look and even more content.

In an April reader survey, we asked you if e-glass weekly meets your needs. Eighty percent of our survey respondents said e-glass weekly is relevant and useful. And 94 percent rated our coverage of important industry news and trends as excellent, very good or good. Thank you!

You also told us you want more news and more project coverage, so, we expanded our news section with links to “More top stories” and added links to project news stories in our Great glazing section.

You’ll see, for the first time, coverage of new products and technology, since you asked. And though more than 60 percent said they did not want to receive e-mail alerts announcing breaking news, the 40 percent who are interested in more frequent news updates can visit the headline news section of www.glassmagazine.net, where we published more than 450 daily news items in the past 12 months.

We took the opportunity to update the look of e-glass weekly, taking the recommendations of e-newsletter experts who say that clean is in and clutter is out. We opted for a “green” look to match the industry that seems to get “greener” every day.

If spam filters or firewalls still keep e-glass weekly from reaching your inbox each week, add us to your e-mail address book or click here to learn about white listing. For subscription information, click here.

Of course, the redesign doesn’t mean we’re finished making improvements to e-glass weekly. Our door, or literal e-mail inbox, is always open if you have comments, questions, corrections or story ideas.
With volatile construction material prices, ever-changing codes and standards, increasing overseas competition, and a tough labor market, the next year promises to be exciting and unpredictable. Stay tuned, and thanks for reading.
