New float plant planned for Belarus
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has approved a project to build a high-quality float glass plant in the town of Smolevichi that will earn annual sales of $177 million, according to a Feb. 21 release from the Belta news agency.
The $197 million plant for Austrian glass company Atek Inc. will start operation in 2009 and employ 600 people. The facility will export 65 percent of its production, according to the release… read more
