National Glass Association Announces Cancellation of GlassBuild America 2020

The National Glass Association announced that GlassBuild America, slated for Sept. 15 -17, 2020, in Las Vegas, has been canceled. The event will return in 2021, Sept. 13-15, in Atlanta. In anticipation of this outcome, NGA has worked behind the scenes to produce an online marketplace called GlassBuild Connect: The Glass & Fenestration Online Experience. GlassBuild Connect will showcase exhibitors' product and services for buyers and prospects to explore online during the entire month of September. 

4 Energy Code Updates to Watch 
Building energy codes continue to increase in stringency, with tougher requirements for thermal performance and new calls for daylighting and views, envelope backstops, thermal bridging and more. In a June 18 Thirsty Thursday webinar from the National Glass Association, NGA Code Consultant Tom Culp, owner of Birch Point Consulting LLC, provided a rundown of recent code changes and important proposals on the horizon.

We had a double blast of code dives this week with webinars from the National Glass Association and from Glass Canada. Both webinars did sound at least a minor alarm about the next area of concern for the commercial glass world when it comes to codes; that would be the spandrel area. This is something that bears watching.
