Heavy Glass Doors

In the last two decades, the heavy glass door trend has continued its upward trajectory. To address this market demand, the National Glass Association published an update to its Heavy Glass Door Design Guide, replacing the previous 1999 edition. “This new edition reflects design trends and materials that will help ensure the continued growth and desirability of this industry segment,” says Ron Biberdorf, Trulite Glass and Aluminum Solutions.

If glasses are installed at a different height than produced, no pressure compensation takes place and it can lead to significant deformations – up to glass breakage. The risk of such damage can be minimized if a continuous pressure equalization takes place between the outside climate and the space between the panes. The NBA Experience is a new attraction at Disney Springs, a themed retail, dining and entertainment center, which opened in August of 2019 in Orlando, Florida. Stantec - Orlando branch designed the attraction, and awarded the contract to supply and install the curved railing system for this dynamic attraction to Altamonte Glass & Mirror.
