The City of Torrance, California, recently completed a building integrated photovoltaic canopy addition to the courtyard portion of the Madrona Marsh Nature Center, a resting spot for migrating bird, insects, frogs, reptiles and small mammals. The BIPV canopy will serve as the ceiling and natural light source for the new butterfly exhibit. The transparent photovoltaic glass creates a natural habitat for the butterflies, while collecting sunlight to offset power consumption. Read more...
