CGH President and CEO Paul Cody Discusses Acquisition of J.E. Berkowitz
On Nov. 3, officials from J.E. Berkowitz LP announced the company joined Consolidated Glass Holdings Inc., an affiliate company of private equity group, Grey Mountain Partners. Paul Cody, president and CEO of CGH, spoke with Glass Magazine about the deal.
 
The ways in which insulating glass fabricators can more efficiently produce their products is a well-worn topic by now. We know that new technologies and automation can help drive up production and enhance overall product quality. And we know that doing nothing is no longer an option.

A subsidiary of Koch Industries purchased the remaining 55.5 percent of the company to now own it in full, and the company added a new jumbo coater. Guardian's commitment to continue to grow and support our industry is there.

Glass Flooring, Bill and Melinda Gates Hall, Cornell University

The 101,500-square-foot Bill and Melinda Gates Hall, home to Cornell University’s Computing Science and Information Science departments, was primarily shaped by a constricted lot as well as the desire to add drama and character to this area of the campus. While the high-performance façade is a focal point of Gates Hall with its unitized glass curtain wall system and perforated stainless steel panels, further drama is created by a glass floor, visible inside as well as outside the building from the overhang of the entry plaza. Read more...
