Closing the Gap

The new year is a time to set goals and make resolutions. It is a time to determine what changes need to take place in order to move from the current state to a desired state—to “close the gap.” The first step in closing the gap and bettering a business is setting the right goals. Some business leaders have advanced to incorporate the SMART concept of goal setting—setting goals that are specific, measureable, agreeable, realistic and time-bound. Setting SMART goals is the most critical step in closing the gap.

FuseCube from Diamon-Fusion

Russ Slaybaugh of Diamon-Fusion International walks us through the low-labor process of using the FuseCube hydrophobic coating chamber. According to Slaybaugh, with the FuseCube, fabricators can coat thousands of square feet of glass on both sides in less than an hour, by simply loading the glass, dropping in the Diamon-Fusion cartridges and pressing a button.

The recently completed Gores Group Headquarters in Beverly Hills, California, features a stunning bent-glass exterior, composed of four different patterns of glass and a variety of graphic images and patterns applied to the interlayer. The project’s architects used the shape of the glass as a continuing element throughout the exterior and interior design of the building. Read more...
