Video: Solutia to acquire Southwall Technologies

Officials from Solutia Inc. signed a definitive agreement to acquire Southwall Technologies for about $113 million. The transaction is expected to close by the first quarter of 2012.

Greenbuild might have hit its plateau last week after a rough outing in Toronto. Traffic was down, which was shocking considering the show was in Canada for the first time. Worse yet was the layout of the show floor.

Energy-efficient wood curtain wall

IC2 Technologies attracted a lot of attention at Greenbuild 2011, where it introduced timber curtain wall technology that can accommodate double or triple glazing systems. The wood curtain wall acts as a structural member of the building, capable of supporting exterior shading systems and the roof. Watch the video here.

Bridgewater House

The centerpiece of the Finzels Reach development in Bristol, England, is Bridgewater House, an office building featuring a five-story, three-sided glass atrium. The atrium is designed to bring maximum light to each intermediate floor.
