Cardiology clinic goes modern with glass and metal-clad facility

 The basics: In fall 2007, Rockford Cardiology Associates Ltd., Rockford, Ill., moved into its newly constructed 53,000-square-foot modern glass and aluminum facility from its former three-story, 1970s office building. The facility cost $140 per square foot and features an impressive lobby clad with reverse slope glazing that leans out at the top.
The players: Architect and general contractor, P-G Architecture Design/Build, Rockford; contract glazier, Rock Valley Glass Co., Cherry Valley, Ill.; glass fabricator, Viracon, Owatonna, Minn.; curtain wall supplier, Efco, a Pella Co., Monett, Mo.; metal wall panel supplier, Dri-Design, Holland, Mich.
The glass and metal: High-performance glazing with a silver reflective coating alternating with Dri-Design silver aluminum panels.
