The basics: In May 2007, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture for the New York Public Library in Harlem completed its $11 million renovation. The 16,000-square-foot renovation included a glass façade with a video wall that can be seen at night.

Specified glass and systems: Stainless steel sheet wrapped around structural steel tube sections with 1 ¼-inch insulating glass units featuring and outer lite of laminated glass with low-emissivity coating and silkscreened border, and a laminated inner lite; a ¾-inch, three-layer decorative glass with mini-dot etched surface, a signage innerlayer, a mirrored surface and a layer of clear plate glass to protect the mirrored surface; and a ¾-inch laminated glass with silkscreen frit for the canopy. |
