Low-emissivity saves at Lincoln Square in Washington

The basics: An office tower at the mixed-use Lincoln Square development in Bellevue, Wash., features ample high-performance glazing to provide energy savings and thermal efficiency. The entire development includes 500,000 square feet of retail space, 42-story hotel and condominium tower, 28-story office tower, restaurants, a health club and spa, and 2,000 square feet of underground parking.
The players: Architect, Sclater Partners, Seattle; glass fabricator, Northwestern Industries Inc., Seattle; contract glazier, Walters & Wolf, Mukilteo, Wash.; glass manufacturer, Guardian Industries Corp., Auburn Hills, Mich.; window system supplier, Moduline Windows, Wausau, Wis.
The glass and systems: Insulating units with clear glass, with reflective and low-emissivity coatings. SunGuard AG 43 for its thermal efficiency and aesthetic design flexibility. Almost 1,300 of the Contemporary 42P Architectural Grade Window Series, that requires 25 percent less aluminum, while maintaining strength and energy efficiency. |
